(EMAILWIRE.COM, October 31, 2012 ) PASADENA, CA - Designer Con, the annual art and design event, will bring over 150 vendors to Pasadena to showcase the best in urban, underground, and pop art alongside the hottest collectibles and designer apparel. Renowned artists and designers like Sucklord, LEGO, David Flores, Paul Kaiju, kaNO kid, Retro Outlaw, Scott Tolleson, and many more will show off their works with live demonstrations, exhibits, retrospectives, contests, signing events, collectible trading opportunities, and exclusive products. Designer Con's featured vendor, BAIT, will offer exclusive collectibles designed by Erick Scarecrow and BeeFy & Co. plus a special chance to get their signatures.
Designer Con will be held at the Pasadena Convention Center on Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 9am to 6pm. General admission tickets are available online at http://www.designercon.com/ for $5 ($7 at the door).
Southern California-based lifestyle brand BAIT will occupy booth 101 as the featured vendor; it will be the only place for attendees to purchase the BAIT exclusive Little Spiker Spitfire figure by Erick Scarecrow, the "Stone" Bad Bad Buddha figure by BeeFy, and a selection of BAIT's signature apparel and collaborative footwear releases. Another sought-after version of BeeFy's figure - the "Gold" Bad Bad Buddha - will also be available in limited quantities.
Both artists will also make an appearance at the booth for an exclusive signing event. Erick Scarecrow will be available from 11am to 12pm, while BeeFy from BeeFy & Co. Will be available from 12pm to 1pm.
Limited to 16 pieces worldwide, the Little Spiker Spitfire figure by Erick Scarecrow will be available exclusively at the BAIT booth for a retail price of $150. The 6.25-inch resin figure is an original Scarecrow design and features a fiery translucent body, complete with a spiked club accessory. The limited-run figure is the latest offering from self-taught artist Erick Scarecrow, who has been designing sought-after collectibles for his company Esc-Toys, Ltd. since 2005. With a catalog that has spanned plush, vinyl, and resin pieces - including past Little Spiker releases - Scarecrow is a seasoned artists who has multiple Toy of the Year and Artist of the Year awards under his belt.
The Bad Bad Buddha figure by BeeFy & Co. will also be available in two versions. The BAIT-exclusive Stone Edition features a rendered stone texture over the Buddha's fierce yet comical build and is limited to 100 pieces worldwide for a retail of $95. The Gold Edition features a shinier metallic finish and will be available in limited quantities. Both variations of the seven-inch deity are paired with an old-school pipe and a gourd for the Buddha to hold his 99% alcohol. BeeFy & Co. was established in 2011 by designer, illustrator, modeler, and animator Menh Voong with the intention of fusing generations of comics, animation, and art with modern pop culture.
The BAIT booth will also feature the brand's signature footwear and apparel, including graphic tees, hoodies, jackets, sweaters, snapbacks produced along with Starter and American Needle, and collaborative footwear projects with Saucony and ASICS. A selection of collectible toys from Kidrobot, NBA and CoolRain, and more will also be available.
