(CityRegions.Com, October 08, 2021 ) NEW YORK, NY - It was all glitz, glam, and red carpet vibes as Broadway’s biggest stars turned out at the Winter Garden Theatre for the 74th Annual Tony Awards. This was the first ceremony since the COVID-19 pandemic caused virtually all life, business and forms of entertainment to come to a screeching halt. The evening’s hosts were Audra McDonald and Leslie Odom Jr.
‘Jagged Little Pill’, a musical based on the iconic album by legendary singer Alanis Morissette, led the evening with a whopping 15 nominations…though the biggest winner of the evening was ‘Moulin Rouge! The Musical’, which won 10 awards, including Best Musical.
Other winners include ‘The Inheritance’ (Best Play), ‘A Soldier’s Play’ (Best Revival of a Play), Andrew Burnap (Best Actor, ‘The Inheritance’) and Mary-Louise Parker (Best Actress, ‘The Sound Inside’)
