(EMAILWIRE.COM, December 26, 2012 ) Dallas, Texas- E cig review website Tech-Cigarette has stated categorically that the proposed regulations by the European Commission on electronic cigarettes need to be re-reviewed by the members before being finalized and implemented. The spokesperson of Tech-Cigarette was of the opinion that smoking devices such as e cigs do not fall under the category of those products that are categorized as tobacco products. Apparently, the European Commission was attempting to impose stricter regulations on all those devices that can be categorized under the tobacco delivering category.
As per the tech-cigarette.com spokesperson, “While the European Commission is correct in its stand over imposing stricter rules against devices that are falling under the tobacco delivering device category, imposing regulations of nicotine delivery systems such as e cigarettes may not be justified, especially when the final output of these impositions deems it mandatory for e cig packs to carry a graphic label. Although this is not proposed as yet, nonetheless, graphic labels can only be regularized on products such as regular cigarette packs.”
The UK Cancer Research Institute as well as ASH is of the opinion that imposing regulations of tobacco cigarettes is a positive move on the part of the European Commission. Apparently, when imposing new regulations pertaining to electric cigarettes are concerned, then they shall be applicable to only those e cigs that are delivering high quantities of nicotine. Those electric cigarettes that are delivering relatively low amounts of nicotine levels shall be spared by such regulations.
