(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 28, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- There are some Russian experts that believe there are three to four years before the internet will account for more than a third of all advertising within the Russian Market. There are still others who say that the internet connection quality remains the main hurdle standing in the way of such growth going from theory to reality.
Vedomosti reported on the issue last week, citing a study by Carat, a subsidiary of the media company known as Aegis Group. In 2013, spending on the online internet sector was expected to grow by 18% in total spending for advertising along. Spending for print media advertising was set to decline by 13.9% within the same time period. Expenses on television advertisement will amount to nearly 46.4% compared with the 48% that was seen in 2012.
Heads of the media companies within the country, stated that publishing houses in Russia received anywhere between 2% to 24% of their total revenues from internet advertising, according to Vedomosti.
Managing Director for Aegis Media, Mikhail Voschinsky, stated that spending on any online marketing was growing specifically due to the new technologies like real-time bidding making online advertising more transparent, as well as straightforward.
Andrei Braiovich, who sits as the managing director of BBDO, stated that the internet advertising has now growing faster than advertising within any other media sector. He still doubted that it would account for any higher than 33% of advertising in the near future.
Braivoch reasoned that new technology such as video-advertising were among the main components/abilities pushing forward growth in the sector worldwide, but that Russia lack of quality service and quality wireless connectivity stood in the way of the country moving forward quickly.
