(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 12, 2013 ) Los Angeles, CA -- Lloyd Irvin, a mixed martial arts coach, is proud to announce that Aarae Alexander took home her first Pan-American Championship in the Lightweight Division. The 18-year old has been training at Team Lloyd IrvinÂ’s Martial Arts Academy in Camp Spring, MD for years now, but this is her first major victory on a huge stage.
In the middle of her freshman year at the University of Maryland, Alexander has only been able to train on the weekends at the academy. She was still able to win all six of her matches on points. Developing a more consistent finishing move is one of the things the youngster hopes to develop as her career progresses.
Alexander currently holds a total of five World Championship IBJJF titles (four blue belt juvenile and one blue belt adult). With the summer coming up, her hope is to rededicate herself to specific training, while also competing in other events. She will return to training full time with Team Lloyd Irvin, as she has grown into a local legend people her below her in age look up to.
