(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 14, 2013 ) Austin, TX -- More and more tobacco companies are entering into the electric cigarette market. This shift is due to the drastic switch of smokers towards these smokeless cigarettes. People are now switching to a smoke free life as these devices help them to control their smoking habit. Various small business firms are running this electric cigarette business and now they fear that big tobacco companies will cut them out of this growing market.
They also fear that these big companies will engage them in a political fight at the state Capitol. Big companies are moving into this e cigarette market as the government is getting tough on the smoking of tobacco cigarettes. The government has increased taxes on sale of tobacco cigarettes thus urging various smokers to switch to these e cigarettes.
State Senate, Rob Johnson has recently introduced a bill in the session which is supported by two big companies that manufacture tobacco cigarettes. These companies will limit the usage of electronic cigarette to a limit of 18 years. Taxes on these products will be one tenth of the state tax imposed on a pack of regular cigarettes.
One of the manufacture of electronic cigarette said “We want to be the furthest thing away from being a tobacco product. Just because we’re a nicotine-derived product doesn’t mean we’re a tobacco product.” With venture of different tobacco companies into the e cig market is a big threat for the already established brand. Moreover it will be difficult for the tobacco brand to make a mark in the market.
