Study Finds News May Be Key to Finding Page-One Success on Google

(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 14, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- Google is now looking to incorporate more news stories within search engine results with the heading 'News for'.

For many sites that carry news of any sort, the results are a grand opportunity to increase the overall visibility of traffic for their respective sites.

The results will often incorporate images in thumbnail form that help them stand out and attract more click-throughs. The move has been said to be part of Google's Universal Search integration, which will include images, videos, shopping links, and so forth. There is no word yet, but one would assume that the new feature will be overtaken more by press releases, and involve less actual news. This is unfortunate for many readers, but is a prime opportunity for advertisers to succeed in SEO efficiency.

The analysis of the numbers for the integration for Google.com against the almost endless keywords found that a growth of 70% was seen in 2012. The study was titled “Study of Universal Search Integrations and was recently released.

Within the study was a finding that 6% of Universal search integrations are displayed on Google. The integration found a much wider range of sources overall, and had an increase in the number of courses by over 15%. The included news sources were blogs, sites, and other publications over a 12-month course.

Improving visibility within traffic will mean producing news content that is visible on such placings on Google. Since integration appears on page one, and is often added into the top search engine page rankings, it gives many SEO businesses a chance to improve their overall efficacy. Being able to infiltrate the first-page through blogs and press releases could be key for the most clever of SEO-wise companies.

The sites are required to apply and be vetted by Google News channel before their acceptance to the news source classification can be completed. Only through such a classification can a source have an opportunity to appear in the news integration.
