(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 27, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- Broadband Coupons recently released a new infographic on the soaring popularity of broadband services. With real time statistics and eye catching charts, this informative graphic is simply a must for anyone wishing to switch over to broadband. According to the infographic, 92% of U.S. households current subscribe to high-speed (broadband) services. With over 80.3 million broadband customers in the U.S. alone, these services continue to dominate the U.S. Internet connection market.
The infographic also highlights several broadband statistics and figures. This includes 6% of broadband subscribers that rate their Internet speeds as poor. While 76% of U.S. households donÂ’t know their Internet connection speeds, 63% of users rate them as fast or high. As broadband services continue to soar, more cities and areas now have access to these high speed Internet services. Back in 2008, 6% of U.S. households did not have broadband access or services in their respective areas. As of 2012, only 2% of households still do not have broadband available in their areas.
While broadband penetration in the U.S. continues to grow, it has also dominated the international Internet market. In fact, the majority of countries have already reached the global Broadband Commission target. This is courtesy of a study conducted by ICT Research earlier this year. 2013 has simply been a banner year for new broadband services and connections as well. In fact, these services have grown to 700 million global subscriptions in 2013. This is 9.8% of the entire Internet connection market as a whole.
There are also several top U.S. cable companies that offer Broadband Internet access. This includes Comcast, Time Warner, Cox, Charter, Cablevision/Suddenlink, and Media Com. Cable One and other private or third party companies also offer broadband Internet access as well. As of 2012, there are over 45,658,826 million subscribers. Of these subscribers, Comcast continues to dominate the industry in net adds, revenue, and subscriptions.
There are also a number of U.S. telephone companies that offer broadband Internet access. This includes AT&T, Verizon, Centurylink, Frontier, and Windstream. Fair Point and Cincinnati Bell are also considered top national providers. The infographic also states that U.S. broadband subscription prices are twice as more than European prices.
