(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 07, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- Over 50% of all organizations see cloud use as beneficial for the growth of their respective businesses. 68% of all businesses will turn to what can be considered a hybrid cloud consumption model by 2015. That constitutes a 20% increase from 2013, according the commissioned research team of 451 Research.
The study was titled, The New Era of Hosted Services, includes responses from the over 1,5000 customers across all sizes of organizations in over 10 countries from North America, Latin America, Asia, and Europe.
The trending hybrid cloud adoption effort is a strong sign for Microsoft, given its strong hosting provisions and partner base, according to the VP of hosting and cloud service providers, Marco Limena. Microsoft has now added 4,500 hosting partners to their already vast affiliations over the last 12 months. That makes the company among the largest of any vendor, according to Limena.
“There is no one size fits all in the cloud, customer requirements are unique and different, and the people who want the benefit of cloud want to define their own cloud strategy,” Limena says in an interview with the WHIR. “It is actually good news for Microsoft and our ecosystem of partners because we have the largest community of hosting partners that any vendor has. Together we can really complete the hybrid model, Microsoft is a big player in the public cloud, but we also offer interoperability between our cloud and the service provider cloud.”
According to the latest survey numbers, 66% of software-as-a-service customers are utilizing software that was preinstalled and is available in an online capacity. Meanwhile, Microsoft Exchange holds over three-quarters of insourced email businesses that are larger than 25 across Canada, Frank, the UK, Germany, and the United States.
“IT professionals were very clear in their response to this survey — cloud-based computing will play an important and growing role as part of their IT portfolios moving forward,” Michelle Bailey, vice president, Datacenter Initiatives and Digital Infrastructure, 451 Research said in a statement. “The study clearly shows a strong customer preference for full-service hosting solutions over the next two years, with substantial investment increases in security services, database, shared servers, backup and recovery, and managed hosted desktop. As this market matures, customers are selecting hosting providers based on trust and their ability to grow with customers’ future businesses.”
