Hotels in US are adding more buzz-worthy and creative items in the mini-bar of rooms. The vice chairman and leader of Deloitte’s U.S. Travel, Hospitality and Leisure practice, Adam Weissenberg says, boutique hotels are more likely to offer such unusual but creative items than larger chains. “This section appeals to their guests is that they are unique,” Weissenberg said and added that this is one of the ways for boutique hotel to distinguish themselves from the chains.
The items are not cheap but customers are happy to pay extra for doing some noble cause. The Graham Hotel is charging $18 on e cigarettes and all the earnings go to local children’s hospital. Other hotels are also donating these amounts to some charitable institutions. “Though the price of some best e cigarettes is quite high but I don’t see any problem in paying this much”, added one of the customers who was enjoying best quality electronic cigarettes in the hotel.
The senior vice president for marketing and creative director of Morgans Hotel Group, Kim Walker says the hotels owned by the company are carefully organizing their mini-bars with best quality of e cig as they think providing the best facilities and surprising the guests is important. “It’s making them playful and not typical”, added Walker.
Explaining the choice and demand of customers, Weissenberg says, “People are looking for personalized experiences and some unusual but worthy items available in the mini-bars make them feel unique.” Reviews say that electronic cigarettes are highly in demand among the smokers but as there are lots of brands available in the market, it has become quite confusing situation to choose the best electronic cigarettes.
