(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 21, 2013 ) Mesa, AZ – On Wednesday morning a bridge under construction collapsed on four construction workers; while two were able to get out of the way, one was critically injured, and the other was killed.
The bridge is located near Hawes Road and the Loop 202 where a new Arizona Route 24 Gateway Freeways is being built to connect Ellsworth Road with Loop 202. This is the first project the construction company has performed in Arizona, while details of the accident are still under investigation.
Unfortunately, in Arizona construction site accidents occur more often than one would expect. These accidents are typically associated with defective or dangerous products, along with a degree of operator negligence or error. Of course, in this extreme case, investigators are continuing to probe and find the actual cause of this bridge collapsing.
At the Phillips Law Group, our Phoenix workers compensation attorneys send their condolences to the construction workers family who lost his life, along with the speedy recovery of the injured construction worker. Our attorneys would like them to know that we are here for them and their families during this tragic time. To learn more call us at 1-800-706-3000 or visit us at www.phillipslaw.com.
