(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 23, 2013 ) Encino, CA -- Rakuten Linkshare, an online marketing company that specializes in affiliate marketing and lead sales generation, announced that the Forrester Consulting company surveyed over 2,500 online shoppers in a series of countries including Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States and conducted in depth interviews with businesses and advertisers in those areas as well.
They findings of that survey found that in the past year, almost 70 percent of affiliate channel shoppers made a purchase from a businesses outside of country they were in. It also found that global advertisers can benefit the most from new-to-file customers both in seasoned markets and those that are just beginning.
According to the senior vice president of Rakuten Linkshare, Scott Allen, e-commerce is expected to expand by $1.3 trillion dollars by the end of this year. Allen said advertisers will be smart to refine their global strategies and focus on overseas markets.
The study, partly funded by Rakuten Linkshare, also found that shipping fees, offers, and comparison shopping sites were major influences and factors for online shoppers. Based on what the authors found, advertisers will have fare better by increasing their attention to affiliate sales and recruit sites from those countries that help them build their global affiliate channel.
