That is the heat component taken care of. Next, get a container, fill it with water, and place it by the side of the cooking grid. Take your barbecue grill brush and dip the bristles in the water. Then simply scrub the wet brush against the grate. The heat from the hot grill will cause the water on the bristles to evaporate so that you end up giving your BBQ a steam clean. Make sure you keep the bristles wet by dipping them in the water often.
This simple addition of water and heat will really reduce the time and effort required to clean your BBQ. The steam cleaning effect of the heat and water softens up any burnt on food and grease nicely, meaning you can use much less force on the grill brush and still get a spotless grate. Since less pressure is being use on the brush, the bristles remain erect for far far longer. Incorporate these two simple steps into your barbecue cleaning and you will not only find it to be much less of a chore, but will also be able to use your trusty wire grill brush season after season without having to replace it.
