(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 03, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- The newly released report by JD Power and Associates on the Auto Insurance Study found that while car insurance rates are rising and the report found that more people are less satisfied with their policies, the 2013 satisfaction rate is still at its second highest point since 2000.
The study measures customer satisfaction across five different areas: interaction, price, policy offerings, billings and claims. Scores throughout all of the areas fell year over year, although the steepest drop was due to an increase in rates, significantly influencing all of the other factors.
On a 1,000 point scale, the average score for satisfaction was at 797 in the North Central United States region, which includes Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. The highest rated satisfactory auto insurance company is Auto-Owners Insurance. State Farm and Hartford were also above the national average at 824 and 803, respectively.
Nationwide, Geico, American Family, Allstate, Country Liberty Mutual, Farmers, and Progressive all had very low scores below 796, but the lowest score overall was Hanover with 764.
