(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 05, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- The Hard Rock Cafe hotel theater was packed on a recent Friday. Owner of the W Series of Fighting owner Ray Sefo could not be happier with the crowd. His company was putting on its third down, and all seemed interested in a former fighter and now owner, Sefo as he greeted all at the event.
Just a couple mornings after putting on the show, Sefo is out of the suit and in his workout clothing, ready to train hard at the Xtreme Couture gym.
The WSOF executive handles a staff of 12 is getting into fighting shape as he will be taking on an opponent of his own on the WSOF card in Los Angeles in August. It has never happened before, but the owner will be handling the event coordination and participant in the fights.
It is analogues to a Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig finding his way down to field and taking some hacks for the Kansas City Royals.
“The thing about Ray is that when he puts his mind to it, he just does it,” said Gil Guardado, the strength and conditioning trainer working with Sefo at Xtreme Couture. “He can separate the things he’s working on. He can separate the fighting and the business side of things. That will never be a problem for him.”
Sefo is not a part-time fighter, either. He is a former kickboxing champion and a six-time Muay Thai champion. Despite a four-year absence from the MMA game, Sefo is ready as ever to take it to his opponent. I’m not all worried about the business side. I have an amazing team,” Sefo said. “The focus is on the fight coming up.”
Sefo is a legend in his native New Zealand. He was a former MMA heavyweight champion in the country of the Kiwi.
Public relationship company owner Jen Wenk stated that Sefo will likely have little trouble being as prepared as possible for not only his own fight, but handling the business end of his company.
