In a new survey, Over half (53 percent) of people believe now is a great time to start remodeling again, and 58 percent of planning projects in the next two years are going to hire professional help when the time comes.
The infograph says that the sudden change in homeowners eager to get started on home renovations is that they were waiting for financial concerns in the housing market to drop before they began remodeling again. Those fears have dropped from 52 percent of homeowners to 45 percent of homeowners. Now, homeowners are also more likely to cut back on other expenditures rather than delay or decrease budgets for their home plans.
The main incentives of remodeling for current homeowners include aesthetics, maintenance, and intention to sell. OVer the last five years, homeowners spent on average $28,030 to remodel their kitchens, but high end kitchen makeovers cost an average of $53,931. Within the the next year, 28 percent of surveyed homeowners intend to remodel their bathrooms within the next year. Bathroom remodeling has an 80 percent recuperation rate at the time of selling the house.
Within the next two years, 23 percent of homeowners are planning to remodel and expand teir kitchen space within the next two years.
A 2013 average nationwide return on investment survey shows that deck additions get the best returns on investments. Major kitchen, bath, roof and basement remodels were also the top investment returns.
