(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 25, 2013 ) Los Angeles, CA -- Recently a new bill on electronic cigarettes regulations has been introduced in Ohio by Lorillard, the third biggest tobacco manufacturer of United States. Anti-Smoking Advocates say the bill is a ‘Trojan Horse’ which is designed to ensure that the emerging industry of electronic cigarette market and other products of nicotine remain taxed at lower rates as compared with tobacco cigarettes and also demands for state’s indoor smoking ban.
In the above context, Kurt Leib, Midwest representative of Lorillard says, “We set about closing this loophole in Ohio and other states as Lorillard strongly believes that e cigarettes are for adult recreational use only,”
In relation to the same context, Stephanie Kunze, State representative of Ohio, says that there are many bills which are already passed by different states and this Ohio bill needs to cover the new tobacco industry products rather than changing the laws every year.
Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee says it as a more-restrictive bill, calling it “counterproductive to prohibit sales to children while simultaneously exempting smokeless cigarettes from laws concerning regulation, enforcement, licensing or taxation.”
