(EMAILWIRE.COM, August 10, 2013 ) Ashland, OR -- During the time period that Delta Dental Mobile Clinic has been coming to the area, over 668 young patients have received almost $280,000 worth of dental care, according to the companyÂ’s program manager, Carri Mikkonen.
The clinic will be in Belle Fourche, headquartered at the St. James Episcopal Church until Friday, Aug. 30. Linda Hoxie, a community health nurse who helps to coordinate the program, says she urges parents of children who may be eligible for treatment to sign up early.
St. James Episcopal Church at 806 Sixth Avenue is this termÂ’s site sponsor and provides the facilities, registers patients and handles the publicity and marketing for the dental practice. In addition, the community must raise at least $2,500 of the start up costs for each visit.
The clinics this year have been funded by Pioneer BAnk and TRust of Belle Fourche and Clarkson Family Foundation, along with several other companies. Other local businesses provided services in kind, including providing discounted or free meals for the dental staff.
Local and Delta Dental dentists provide the professional services.
