Tech is, of course, 100% necessary to students these days. Finding them great items that are both durable and usable are a great gift idea. Kids can be picky about what style of technology they want, but making sure any item is break-safe and durable through punishment is key with college students.
Finally, a quality backpack is key. Many college students think they can do without them once out of high school, but soon the cost of school and social life takes its toll. Students end up walking long distances to save on gas money, or have to lug around 20 lbs of books on busy school days. A good backpack can make life so much easier.
