When 1ink.com was hit with the first of three DDoS attacks, the company had no idea it would grow in size and complexity. At first, the DDos attack took down 101inks.com, which is a smaller ecommerce site ran by 1ink.com.
1ink.com CEO Roland Davoudikia, in an attempt to stop the attacks, hired Prolexic from among several other DDoS mitigation services to help protect its company ecommerce business.
Prolexic was able to mitigate the attack within five minutes of integration, as described on their agreement.
Stuart Scholly, president of Prolexic, said his team was able to conclude through post-attack forensic analysis that 1ink.com was accidentally targeted. According to Scholly, this illustrates how even random events can cause significant damage to a companyÂ’s financial well being if a DDoS is not in place.
