(EMAILWIRE.COM, September 10, 2013 ) Austin, TX -- Miami Heat fans and general sneaker collectors turned out for the new Dwyane Wade's Li-Ning Way of Wade Encore “Gold Rush” shoe that was released recently at the SoleFly Shoe Boutique in Miami. The store gave out raffle tickets all week, with the drawn tickets getting a chance to purchase the Gold Rush shoes for $250 plus tax.
The lottery began from inside the store and a DJ kept the surroundings lively with bumping music as the staff let everyone know there were 100 pairs of the shoes to sell. The sizes ranged from 8 to 10 pairs for each size. The largest size sold was 14, and the drawing when throughout the day.
Many “new listings” had the shoes on sale for anywhere from $400 to $800 in a markup that is common for such shoes. Many times, the interest in the person or the shoe itself takes a distant second and third place to the almighty dollar. Demand is high for specific shoes, especially basketball shoes, and so fans often are more interested in turning a profit than owning the actual product.
Carlos Gonzalez from Cutler Bay came to the event and was lucky enough to gain two pairs. One would assume one was to own and the other was to sell for profit. Some were given a consolation prize of a Gold Rush tee-shirt to commemorate the release.
There are thousands who are likely interested in purchasing the shoes in Miami alone. The limited release is a common act for the shoes to build interest. And for those able to gain a pair, it is a momentous occasion. For the rest, the they are left to cheer “We want more, we want more!” until more pairs are actually released.
Dwyane Wade send out a video Instagram video to thank his fans and the SoleFly company for their support. He stated that the teaser release was just the start for the shoe line.
