India Handset Shipments, Vendor Market Strategies and Key Trends Q3-2011

 



(CityRegions.Com, September 22, 2017 ) The Chinese vendors’ shipments are driven by the e-tailers like Flip cart, Amazon, and Snap deal. They are assertively trying to overtake the handset market in India. The last quarter of 2015 observed a raise in supply because numerous vendors had been preparing their sites to make up for the festive period and jumbo sale programs online.

Low priced handsets with large screen have also driven the market growth. The majority of the well-liked models in the industry these days support 4G along with pleasingly priced at not more than $200 along with large screen. The Indian handset market is continued to lead by Samsung with over 13.0% sequential rise third quarter over second quarter of 2015. It also left behind the leading 4G vendor, Lenovo.

Micromax maintained the second position in third quarter of 2015 with over 6.0% sequential increase. Intex held the 3rd position in third quarter of 2015 with over 9% growth. The vendor observed sharp increase in both, sub $50 shipments and entry level devices enabled with 3G.

The device enabled with 4G has observed about three times raise in item shipments by the end of the year 2015. There was more than 20% shoot in the shipment of handsets in India. One third of the handset shipments were enabled with 4G during the second half of the year 2015 in India according to the international data corporation.
As per quarterly mobile tracking system of international data corporation (IDC), more than 28 million mobile phones had been shipped in the third quarter of 2015 in India. This is over 21 per cent more from little over 23.0 million units than that of same time of last year. Samsung appeared as the major 4G competitor in India with its well known sub $150 LTE smart phones like Galaxy J2 and Galaxy Grand Prime.

“4G facilitated devices are estimated to be at the first position, with the complete bionetwork getting ready for this move in the coming time,” according to the IDC research manager, Kiran Kumar. Better value and low cost is anticipated to boost the import of smart phones in the near future. It is also expected that the handsets will carry on maintaining strong two-digit raise in the coming years.
